New Guy In Town
Hello, My name is Jeff and I just found this site and thought I would stop in and see how this place is. I am a true car nut from birth. I dont always go with what everyone else is doing with car fads. I have a deep love for the corvette. My first vette was a 61 283 four speed with bolth tops red on red. Then after kicking myself in the butt for years after selling it I got a 73 vette. Spent three years going from the ground up on it as a street rod \ 1\4 mile car. She had a 383 stroker on the bottle and was 2000 vette yellow. Got sick of the heavy vette and nothing left to work on so that went away. After that I took the money and found a 88 vette ragtop with 33,000 real miles in 2001. Used her for a year and found it just was not me.
Another car I have always been hooked on has been the 240Z. I grew up with my mom having a 240Z. Not just any 240z tho. My dad got it for her in the early 80's. It had been in storage for a few years after being a back up car for Paul Newman when he was running the Z on the track in the 70's. Needless to say it was not a stock Z.
It has taken me about 8 years of hunting to find my RUST FREE 240Z. But I now have it. I have spent the last year working the shell over for the HP I am wanting to drop in her. Now I am at the point of working on driveline. My plans are going with a Jag IRS or worse case Vette IRS. Five speed and Heres the kicker ... I want something new that NO ONE has done. I thought maybe a ford SHO motor then thought no to hard to work over. Then there was the thought of the SB GM motor but thats been done to death IMO. So after tons of thinking I have made up my mind. GM 4.2 V6 Twin Turbo Easy for parts easy to work on yet no one seems to use it. So Yah thats where I am going.Rules of the game fast, good, cheap pick any 2
fast + good = not cheap
fast +cheap = not good
good + cheap = not fast
I reside in Oklahoma and live at the wheel of my 240Z
