    Gramas are hotrodders too!

Hi! I was looking thru the web for pics from "my" days and found this forum and a thread about street racing in the 60's and 70's. Big part of my life! Am looking for pictures too. I cruised and raced street at Golden Gardens in Seattle, Colby up in Everett and did the Loop in Renton. My boyfriend/husband and I were part of the Seattle Drag Club and helped the Handlers Assn at Bremerton Raceways. My boys did the Boeing freeway in the 90's in Everett. I lean heavily towards Mopar with Chev running a close second. I don't or didn't always use my common sense when it came to cars like changing out leaf springs in a dirt driveway, in the rain, four months pregnant. But he's now a healthy 31 yr old. Broke my wrist trying to lift a cast iron engine just 1/2 '' HIGHER than a cherry picker would go. The engine won! Go figure. Carry a pucker in my leg where a stud flew off a tire when I was flagging them off. I agree with one of the guys who said the cops AND kids were different back then. My perfume was Eau de Rubber and I wore it proudly! Anyone with pictures from the area and/or time - please let me know!

Welcome aboard, sounds like you know how to have a good time!

I wasn't around here when you were being "crazy", misspent my teen years in SoCal and the military. But there's plenty to see here otherwise. Larry M. will probably have some stuff for you from the action a little south of here in Shelton.

Welcome to the forum. Does sound like you have been around the block car-wise a few times! Bet you didn't tell these stories to your 31 year old when he turned 16, or was it "do as I say, not as I did?????"

I think you will enjoy our little family here, lots of nice people and vast knowledge base.
