Just wanted to introduce myself...
Im not really a new member, Ive been looking through the forums from time to time for a while, but just never really posted. My name is John, I live in upstate NY near Rochester. I am currently working on a build of a 73 Dodge Dart Swinger which will be kind of a Muscle/Rat Rod type style, flat black paint, steel wheels and lots of home built stuff. I am doing a stroked 318 for it for now in lieu of the 408 stroker that will come later (R3 block, W2 heads, dual quad tunnel ram, etc). I joined up here because I would like to start a traditional style street rod pickup project that will have the 318 in it once the other engine is done. From what I hear this is a great board for getting information and tricks and tips, and Im always more than happy to learn new stuff, plus I am sure I can be of some help sometimes as I have been wrenching on cars for most of my life.Real Cars Don't Power The Front Wheels, They Lift Them...

Thanks for the welcome guys. Alot of the Mopar guys I talk to really arent into what Im doing with the Swinger, but hey, its my car and Im no purist, so I dont really worry what those guys think. I dont plan on selling this car unless some great offer that I cant turn down comes along, so Ill build it to suit me lol. I just want something that is fun and I dont have to worry if it gets a scratch or dent, been there done that and I dont want to worry about matching custom paint or anything on a kinked fender, etc. As long as the body is straight and rust free, Im good with it.
I havent been through Auburn in quite a while, very nice area though!Real Cars Don't Power The Front Wheels, They Lift Them...

Thanks! Gotta love those old A bodies! Pretty light weight with enough room for a big block if you want! This summer I have put mid 70s Camaro buckets in it, a TCI floor shifter and begun the paint by doing the door jambs and rockers. Im hoping to have some time this weekend to do the trunk area and the rear end behind the QP extensions and bumper. After that I plan on pulling the engine and trans and cleaning up and painting the engine bay while I tear down the engine and send it off for machine work and then back for the rebuild over the winter. Ill be welding in an 8 pt cage and frame connectors either this fall or in the spring and then the interior will be put together.Real Cars Don't Power The Front Wheels, They Lift Them...
