    Smile New guy checking in

    Hi,

Bud here...I'm building my first street rod. A fendered 34 Ford pickup. Collected all my parts, fixing metal now. I hope to show some pics (with progress!) soon. My father was a restorer and latter a rod builder so I've been around cars but never built one for myself. I should be working right now...but all I can think about is what do I need to do next to get it done. I have been waiting for my chassis for waaay too long. Good thing I have the stock one to work off. Anyway hope to get to know some people on this board who have the same sickness as me up here in Minneapolis Mn.

Whoa, do I envy you!! Love those '32-34 trucks.

Welcome to the forum. You are going to find a lot of equally sick people on here infected with the same hot-rod-itis that you have. Hope we can help you get your dream car together and running.

    Don

    Thank's Don,

Its getting cold here and my garage (play) time will be going up in the near future. I hope to drive it this spring...won't be finished but should be driveable. I'm always looking for people that have built a pickup like mine so I can learn from them!

Buds34, Welcome to CHR! Nice pickup, looks to be a fun project for sure. There's a lot of sick people here so you won't be lonely. Most of us are just a few short steps away from the looney bin. As we are now, soon shall you be.

BTW, my father in law recently sold his 34 Ford PU, it was a real beauty. Just right for a short slender person. Unfortunately I didn't meet either one of those criteria so I passed on it. I could get in it, but getting back out was a whole different matter.

A good friend will come and bail you out of jail....but a true friend will be sitting next to you saying..."Damn....that was fun!
