New Guy
I have been wanting a hot rod my whole life and finally am the owner of a 1930 5 window. After 3 ex wives, 4 lost houses (settlement), I have scraped enough dollars together to buy one. I wish I could have built it but somehow it seemed so much easier to buy one. Although it needs a little work I am pretty happy with it Am hoping to start cruising in the Tampa area soon. If there are any others out there maybe we can get together.

Welcome to the forum from someone just south of you. Are you going to Billetproof in March? We are planning on it.
You know, if you would have stayed away from all those wives you could have had a hot rod a lot sooner. Who was it, Johnny Carson who said "never get too attached to your house?" Ain't it the truth.
Nice looking little coupe by the way.

I am not familiar with billetproof? Where is it? It sounds like fun. I just got the car and want to go thru it to make sure it will be dependable. But I am sure i will try to make it.

Rick, welcome to CHR. Nice looking ride you have there. More pictures would be nice. Billietproof is March 22 and will be held at Don Garlits' place in Ocala.
There are a lot of cruise-ins around were you are every month. Dade City has one downtown the first Saturday of every month, and there is one in Plant City monthly also. There is one in Springhill every Thursday evening. There are also several in your area weekly. I have been to one at a DQ several times. I have friends and relatives with a variety of cars that live in the Wesley Chapel, Dade City, Zephyrhills area.
Unfortunately I am not one of them yet as I am still snow bound in PA.
You should get a lot of enjoyment out of your coupe, it sure looks good.Bob
A good friend will come and bail you out of jail....but a true friend will be sitting next to you saying..."Damn....that was fun!

Buy vs build
Hey, for years I walked into car shows, rod runs and crusins. There ain't notin like driving in! Your car looks great. Don't worry about not building it yourself. There are lots of people who just buy and sell cars. Probably more so now than in the old days. More cars around. I bought a Model A driver for the price of a roller! This year, I have it torn down and making the changes that will transform it into a dream car. One I could not never afford to buy as finished"Chance favors the prepared mind"
Car Cruisin spectator remark about my suede paint :
"That will look nice when it is painted"
(it is painted).
