Greetings from Music City
I was looking for a good site that fit the type of ride I have and this site seems to fit well.
The car is a 41 Champion Coupe sometimes know as the "double dater" or if it didn't have the small bench in the back it was a Bussinessman's Coupe. Any Stude owners out there?
I've ripped out the old hot rod dashboard and going to install a 41 Stude dashboard which will look 1000% better.
Here"s a shot of old school dash that I pulled out. Notice the VDO gauges. Those where taken apart and used in my vintage gauge cluster.
I hope to be able to contribute to this group and hope to pickup some tips as well. Take care all.

From one Robert to another, Welcome to CHR! Very nice looking Studie you have. I don't think there are many 30's and 40's Stude's here. Several members have 50's cars. A good friend of mine used to have a 38 Sedan, it was always a favorite of mine. Unfortunately he sold it a few years back when he decided to get out of rodding.
You will find a lot of interesting topics here and lots of good people with loads of experience. Enjoy!Bob
A good friend will come and bail you out of jail....but a true friend will be sitting next to you saying..."Damn....that was fun!

Thanks for the welcome Barb, Hardhat..
Bob,
I found this car on Craigslist just outside of Atlanta and took a leap of faith and pulled a trailer down there with my son-in-law and was prepared to look or buy. It was an older 70's build and was still pretty solid. Needs a bit of TLC to freshen it up. The dashboard was a fabricated one and looked old school, but when I saw what it replaced I just had to convert it back. I found another guy selling a rotten coupe with quite a few usable parts and we struck up a deal. He delivered right to my door from St.Louis.
I got all the side beltline brightware, dash, fenders (don't need) both doors (don't need) hood and trunk lid which are mint. I'm putting those back on with all the brightware. Both front and rear bumpers. No taillights (darnit). 41 taillights are very rare and sought after by more than Stude fans. I'm going to repaint the car a pearl yellow when all said and done. I hope to get it back on the road before June and make the Good Guys show at the Titans Stadium this year.
I used to be into Mustangs (owned quite a few over the years), but when I saw this car I had to have it. I love the body style. I recently took the vintage gauge cluster and put VDO gauges in it and it's looks factory. Fabbed all the plates and it turned out great. Vintage look but now worked with modern sending units. I got a ton of ideas in my head giving me a headache.
No there are not many 41's on the forums because I've searched for them for ideas.. I'm sure you guys and girls will help me out when I need it and I'll offer my two cents as well. Thanks for the welcome.
Robert
