Soldier Deployed from ND
Hey, all. Joined here to get some feed back on my next project. Getting a 58 Chevy 2 door Biscayne. Had a 4 door in high school. Resto-rodded my Dad's '59 Chevy Bel air 4 door a few years ago as a driver on a $6000 budget.

First of all, Thanks for your commitment!
Now down to the really fun stuff. I like the drawing of your dream mobile
But what size engine will you use? All that metal will need some ponies under the hood to get it around quickly!!!
...and if you have more drawings of your project car, take some pictures and post them, I am sure that you will get some more ideas!...at least I'm enjoying the ride!

Well, for now the 350/350 combo will stay. But...My engine of choice when the cr looks the way I want is a 6-71 Supercharged 409. Not sure what I want for air cleaners yet though. Thinking just the small 4.5" with no bug catcher. Keep it with in the late '50s to early '60s theme. Plus I am trying to figure out if I want to build onto the frame or have my dad build a new one. Are these frames prone to twisting under stress?

The frames hold up pretty well, best recomendation I can make on suspension is to go with front disc brake, stock power steering (the power assist gives a wonderful road feel), and 1" front and rear sway bars (ADCCO used to make them). Boxed rear control arms also help.
Chances are depending on the shifter you will not have to notch the front seat to clear, but a console and bucket seats will definatly eliminate any problems.
Also noted in the picture that the heater is missing, yo could delete and go with something like Vintage air but if you want a stock heater I think I have enough pieces for either a comple Delux or standard (recirculating) set up out in the shed.I've NEVER seen a car come from the factory that couldn't be improved.....

Thanks I will keep that in mind. I may need the heater box and parts for the deluxe at first but I do want to add AC later. This is the link to my ideas I am throwing around:

Kewl!!! We used to drag race at Fargo, ND quite a bit, since have switched to the new drag strip out in Pierre, SD... Used to run against a Super Gas racer from Mandan...can't remember his name anymore, of course...he used to run a Mopar with a wicked 413 Max Wedge.... If I think of his name someday I'll put it on here....
Anyway, keep your head down, maybe see ya when you get back!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!
