That's going to be one fine ride that will be a heck of a lot easier to maintain than the original Ferrari engine design!

This is never really going to be settled, since there is no authority recognized by everyone.

Actually the magazines... the "internet of the ancient times"... debated this for years, and eventually a rough outline developed to describe a hot rod, street rod, street machine, muscle car, pro street, and so on.

All of that was already taking place, before NSRA even existed. They came along in 1970, and were following the "common understanding" already developed by involved enthusiasts then.

Things remained generally that way for about the next 30 years, until younger or newer enthusiasts started to reject the definition.

I suspect that the common interpretation of "hot rod", as it was understood by people who had been out side the hobby, did not include the "by year, and build style" classifications that long term enthusiasts had already "settled on".

Nothing ever stays the same, so change will come no matter who thinks they had already solved the issue.

Thats certainly looks at home in that engine bay and so good it fell into place without trouble. You will be biting at the bit now to get it running for that first drive. It is looking cool and don't worry too much on what some people think of it,it is yours, you build it,you drive it so enjoy the thrill of it.

I have mixed feelings. I see three terms being thrown out alot, and they are used depending the circle your in. One is "Street Rod" then there is "Hot Rod" and finally "Muscle Car". My opinion that cars in the 50's and older with modified engines, cool paint, modern running gear are "Street Rods." Car restored somewhat to original form but a beefed up original type engine or maybe parts from similar makes thrown together would be a "Hot Rod". And finally cars in the 60's to present fast and furious would be considered "Muscle Car" catagory. Just my opinion.. What you have will make one sweet ride whatever you call it. ~robert

Lookin' clean and nice! Nothing wrong with minor progress, better then no progress at all! Gonna be one nice Hot Rod when it's done!!!!

BTW, if it's got lots of modifications and goes fast in a big hurry, it's a Hot Rod!!!!! All the classification stuff isn't necessary for a lot of us!

Finally got around to working on the dash again. Attached a couple of compilation pics from start to its current state in red primer. It's not perfect, but with a little fine tuning it can be painted to match the exterior, if I decide to go that route.
