Getting started for a midlife crisis
OK - Just joined the site because I will be working on a project for myself and family. I will probably have some questions as time goes on.
Wanted to but a car first but found a good block to start. Plan on getting it this weekend, cleaning it up and having it dipped / magnafluxed etc. I found a good machine shop close to the house (within 15 miles) who does all of their own machining. Talked with them and I feel comfortable.
I'll start a parts list but won't finish it until I decide what car I want it to go in. Looking for a roller (any year Camaro, older Nova, maybe even a Corvette) Planning on a decent build but haven't touched engines since High School, so I may be asking for some advice at times. A good friend of mine from High school has been working in the field for some time so he will provide some help too.
I want to do all of the work myself, just getting some more books to re familiarize myself with everything.

It's not a mid life crisis, you're being "Born Again". Good luck with your search.

Welcome. Don't worry about that midlife crisis. I heard recently that, because of the longer life spans today, "30 is the new 20"!
Do you know what this means??? It also means that (using simple math)...
...."60 is the new 40"! :-)~
