Hello from San Francisco!!!!
Hey everyone! So I decided to sign up to get some advice and provide some where I can. I live in San Francisco, and I'm a lead mobile electronics tech at a local shop. I'm currently finishing up my degree @ SFSU, and working my way through college. When I was 5, my father passed away but he left me with his old Ford. It's a 1935 Coupe (5 window)....all steel with hardly any rust. I've been picking up parts over the past few years, and i've finally decided to bunker down and start with the restoration! I recently rebuilt the stromberg 97 and I'm in the process of doing a 12v conversion. Also bought a Bob Drake gas tank + new lines and a power gen alternator. I've never done a restoration and I know it's alot of work, but I'm all for it . Got an appointment to have mustang 2 suspension with bags installed + c notching the frame on Sept. 1st of this year Well here go some pics I took last year....I'll be posting new pics as they come.

Welcome aboard, nice to have younger folks get into these ol' Fords. Your '35 Standard looks like a decent starting piece.
You probably have already figured out that the engine is a '49-53 Merc (if the heads are for the block) rather than the original engine to the car. You didn't say if you were planning to keep the flatty, but the new upper hoses imply you do. I'd be concerned about those "redneck" engine mount extensions, but then if you're doing the MII front crossmember you're going to have to deal with those anyway. Keep us tuned in to what your progress is.Last edited by Bob Parmenter; 06-01-2010 at 07:41 AM.

Thanks for all the wonderful comments! I am planning on keeping the flathead....and yes the hillbilly mounts will be taken care of when the new suspension goes on. Eventually plan on buying a supercharged flathead crate motor....but that's a while away. Plans for this upcoming weekend include gas tank install and running new fuel lines. I'll keep everyone posted.

Welcome,
That is a great car to start with. I got my 34 from a guy in Palo Alto 44 years ago. Show more pics of the progress made so far. It's going to be sweet ride when done.

Yes welcome,
Awesome original steel body, low owner, low mileage?, car with some personal history and with the fact that your dad was good enough to leave it to you when you were only 5 makes it even more sad and memorable. I am sure you will do your dad proud in whatever you accomplish, not only with the coupe but what you have done in your short life sofar. All the best with the car and your future, God Bless..
