Another new guy for so. cal. (desert)
Hi - I just found this web site - been spending some time on Jalopy Journal's HAMB. I'm more of a hot rodder than a traditional guy. I have been building hot rods since I was 15 (brought home 2 model A sedan projects) and currently have a 1929 Ford tudor, a 1930 coupe, a 1940 coupe, a 1955 chevy 150, and a 1965 Ford F100 flareside. The '29' and '30' are completed, the chevy and F100 are daily drivers, and the '40' is the current project. Oh, yeah, I also have a couple of '67' Triumph motorcycles.
I didn't intentionally want this many cars - it just kind of happened. I have been working on the 1940 Ford quite a bit lately, work has been really slow. I'm 62 years old and I'm assuming that I am semi-retired now, but don't really want to quit working. I'm one of the few guys that you will meet that likes going to work - gives my life structure. Anyway, I have already learned a lot on this site about rebuilding a tripower setup. Hope to learn and share more. Take care.

Wecome to the Best site in anybodies computer. I so do want that Model A and excellent colour choice and as Don said,It looks as if you enjoy driving it.. I have just joined the HAMB site but I have not completely made my mind up yet if that was a good choice as there appears to be a different type of person on there compared to this excellent friendly helpful site...

Thanks for the kind words about my coupe. It is a blast to drive. My username comes from my being an Engineering Geologist - I'm the guy that confirms what soils / rocks are present before any kind of construction project and makes sure that the site is developed to minimize the necessity of any lawyers getting involved (I've worked on power plants, dams, residential developments, a runway, and lots of other stuff). Working on old cars has always been my source of relaxation and personal satisfaction. Here's a picture of my current project - a '40' Ford deluxe coupe - almost ready for paint. I do everything except upholstery, machine work, and exhaust system. A typical car will take me about two years to complete.

Good to know you Dirt! I've never known a Rock Cop before... Thanks for the explanation and keep us posted on the Deluxe. If it comes out anything like your Orange Machine, it will be SWEET!
