Not new, but back.....
Hi All,
Seemed fitting to introduce myself as have not been here for a few years. In a nutshell..... Dad worked on 'HOMADE' since I was 7 years old. Never done, it was constantly upgraded or changed here and there as needed by his standards. Dad eventually rear-ended another vehicle about 7 years ago. During the rebuild, Alzheimers set in. Sure was a tough day when I had to take HOMADE away from him.
Now, I am getting it back together and running again. It truly is a Johnny Cash Special - One Piece At A Time.
1936 Ford PU frame
1934 body, channeled 4" and stretched 12"
1965 shorty box, channeled 6"
1974 Duster torsion bar front end
9" rear with 3:25 traction lok
1969 302 4bbl with AOD from '92 Cougar
Many other parts and pieces.......
Jegs, NAPA and Autozone love me right now
It's been a fun journey to get it back together and running - but I am not 1/2 the fabricator he was, though not too bad of a wrench.
Next up - body shop to get fenders repaired......
Looking forward to hanging out here and learning from others - and hopefully able to dole out some advice as well....

As I said on your other thread, welcome back David and thanks for the run down on your little truck. I understand that it used to be your Dads' so has been a member of the family for a long time? We would love to see some photos of "Homade" and if you have earlier photos of your dads work etc. the better thanks.
Sorry to hear about the Alzheimers that has struck your Dad, a very horrible disease, I will pray for tonight.I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

I will post some pics - having some problems with my main computer right now - so using my work laptop - which I cannot keep photo files on or scan to. I have a 'bazillion' pics of HOMADE over the years. Hopefully this weekend.
HOMADE has been around for most of my life (I'm 42 now). Many fond memories of being in the garage or searching swap meets or meeting other folks for parts. Also learned all of my 'colorful' language in the garage.
I can certainly say that Alzheimer's sucks! Dad passed in December, but was sorta gone for quite a while. The larger than life jack of all trades, master of none reduced to not remembering his own kids was hard. So many questions I have about what he did when he built it (I wasn't always paying attention). But, I'll figure them out as they come up. Rebuilding the front-end and getting her running again has been good therapy.

Hi David, glad to see you back, but so very sorry to hear about your Dad. However, it sounds like his memory will live on with this project and in all the great times you two shared. He'll be right beside you during the whole thing and there for that first ride.
Post up lots of pictures, we love em.

Thanks! This is what I grew up on - just wish (in hindsight) that I'd spent even more time in the garage. Dad drove it back to ND one year. When he got back, he decided he wanted more leg room, so the idea of cutting off the back of the cab was born. The windows were formed using doors that were cut in order to keep the body lines consistent. I remember when he welded it back together - I was on the inside of the cab holding some sort of backing (aluminum if I recall) while he tacked it all in place. It was only like 90 degrees that day and I vividly remember getting there from work in shirt and tie as forgot to bring a change of clothes.
