Hey pro z and goat, time is not even an issue when your are building yer own. I have a '72 Ford pick up I just started on 11 years ago, a '57 Ford wagon I just bought in 1973 might be my next project to start on. Half the fun is in the building way I see it, and when you're done it's totally unique and all yours.
But one final thought. Is it just me, or do you guys have these wonderful, intelligent friends who come around and make fantastic suggestions, then leave when it's time for the work to start?? Mine also come back about a week later and ask why you aren't done with that yet !!!!
Building rods and street machines is great fun, I would not trade the experience for anything !!

Thanks for the nice comments guys its much appreciated.
Firstly yeah myself and my buddy greg are the ones that did the cage/frame.
Techinspector i havent yet had the frame/cage cert'ed yet but plan to as soon as i get the chance and find when i can take it and have it inspected(should be soon)
Also thanks for the "thumbs up" on the cage techinspector..i went back&forth about deciding if i wanted to do so much cage work to the car or just add the least that i could get away with so i could save some # in the car, but in the end i figured it is better to have a safer car with a extensive cage at the cost of maybe a tenth.
And yeah i get the "driveway inspectors" as i call them guys that come over and tell me what they would have done or ask why i did this or that then tell me......awwww your never gonna finish that thing
As for the motor i had been discussing the combo with the engine shop for about 6 months trying to decide what would get me the power that i wanted and putting money back the whole time. Well now all the short block parts are on order and i just dropped the block off yesterday at the shop. Its starting to progress very nicely in the last month......i ended up selling my boat to get the motor build up started i hated to do it since i am a huge fisherman....but my car and hot rods are always my #1 priority so i knew i had to do it.
I'll be working on the goat alot now that the weather here in MI is starting to get warmer and the snows mealting so i'll post some pics as i get more done.
Thanks for all the intrest guys....this site is really great i'm glad i found it
