Funny thing, straight after the quake the missus started walking home from the hospital. She had to walk past the brewery that had spilled its guts. So while wading through a nice mixture of liquifaction, sewage and beer she suddenly had visons of Homer Simpson, doing backstroke in it.removed

The Taranaki ale was the standard drink on offer when I visited the Naki.
I guess now, that they never drank it themselves, but saved it for visitors.
Now Leopard Lager. That, my friends, was a real drink ..
I consumed so much of it over the years that I think I owned the brewery ..

I doubt it - many of us like to have a bucket o' suds occasionally. Here in Upstate New York we have a beer maker that makes a nice one called Genesee Cream Ale. It bites the unexpected and I like it and keep a case (of 30) on hand for when friends and relative appear and are thirsty. Most will drink one just to be sociableDave W
I am now gone from this forum for now - finally have pulled the plug

Never had any NZ beer. The closest I've come is an Aussie Fosters, but I think it's brewed here in the US.
Back in the early '70s as a young sailor stationed in Hawaii we used to drink Primo beer. At $3 a case we learned to like it.
San Miguel in the PI was especially nasty the morning after a night on the town.Mike

Back in the 90s,the Hot rod Cafe,in Hawaii, had Steinlager on tap..a good Kiwi beer for you.Its just not fair...I have drunk gallons of Millers, half gallons of Budweisers, and not much else of your beer,,but it doesnt sound like NZ beer has found its way up there in any decent quantity..I think Squeak used to have some at Kiwi Thursdays at his shop,though.. How did this start??Oh yes...bullitz and his darn Speights..Micah 6:8
