New Guy from Merrit Island Florida
Hey guys. Next week I am trading my 1985 Iroc Z28 Camaro for a 1937 Chevy master deluxe 4 door, it is just a empty shell with a frame. I was planning on putting a drive train from a 2000ish s10 into the car, But i was wondering. Would it be possible just to attach the body to an s10 chassis with little or no modifications? I think it would give me the advantage of saving money on revamping the suspension, brakes, etc; and in the long run save me alot on suspension upgrades and probably even performance parts. Advice would be much appreciated. I am also trying to find a good place to find replacement parts if i cant do the conversion.Last edited by Corey Goldberg; 06-04-2011 at 08:01 PM.

It depends on what you want. If you want a S10 with an antique body then the body to frame swap is right for you, but it will always be an S10. On the other hand, if you want a street rod then keep the original frame, or a replacement of the OEM frame, and build your car from there with aftermarket parts. You can obviously save some money with the new frame approach, but if you are trying to build value for the long term then setting the old body on a new frame is not going to be a good value proposition in the future. My $0.02, and others may disagree.Roger
