    New with questions

I just purchased a Ford Sedan Deliver. I was told it was a !952. Title says a 1954. There is no vin on body to match title. Looking at pictures the 52, 53 and 54 looks like same body with different grill and tail lights. Since my vehicle is just a shell with frame is there any way to tell year it is for sure. Will all parts interchange between the three mentioned vehicles? I can not find any information. Apparently I am not using the right search words. Body and floors are in good shape except for rockers. I will guess I will have to make these myself. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Here's a link to some VIN information on that era of vehicles. Not sure why you have what was said to be a '52 if the title they provided says '54?? Seems to be reason to question the authenticity.....

Thanks for the VIN link. Very helpful. The vehicle does not have a VIN tag. What I am trying to find out is if all the parts interchange between the 52, 53 and 54 Fords of the same body style. I can not find any venders that carry parts for this vehicle.

Unless there are some early 54's with flatheads, that was the first year for the ohv v8, 52 and 53 would have been flathead powered for sure.

    Welcome to the forum.

Welcome aboard - we do try to have some fun!!

OK - Your '52-'54 Ford. First of all, the easiest way to tell them apart at a glance if it's a shell with a frame - the '54 had a 'unique' front suspension. That's the first year for ball joints, replacing king pins. There is also a tubular cross member under the engine. Beyond that, almost everything else is interchangeable. As far as a '52-'52, only the VIN and trim level. Most '53's had some different side trim.

Now - other parts. The exhaust is identical '52-'56 (cheap dual exhaust system) from the muffler back. If you install a 'Y' block, you can use everything from the manifold. Differentials - same though an axle change was made in 55/56, but it would be a good opportunity to put a stronger one in, i.e. an 8/9 incher. Body parts - identical, '52/'54 though the dash is different (the top of a '54 over the speedo is usually open, covered with colored clear plastic for illumination
