New from Texas
I just worked a deal on a 454ci engine/transmission and have alot of questions about it.
It was in a motor home and I would like to find out as much about it as I can. Horsepower, torque, etc.
It only has 49,000 miles on it so I thought I would clean it up a bit and maybe put it in my '80 Z28.
I have to admit I am coming into this like a blind virgin when it comes to big blocks but I have been building motorcycles for the last 40 years so hopefully I will be a quick study. If not bare with me.

Welcome, 49! We need more West Texas people at CHR.
I have never owned a big block Chevy so anything I might say about them should be ignored, but there are guys here who can offer you plenty of expert advice.
I'd suggest that you read everything a guy named Pat McCarthy posts. He knows BBC's better than anybody.
Good luck with your project!

Welcome to the best hot rod forum on the web. That BBC should be a fun project. I'm sure Pat will be chiming in soon, as he is the resident BB guru!

Thank's for the welcome guys. I'm looking forward to learning as much as I can here and hopefully give a few answers to help as well.
