i do not have any GK cam books any more. so i can not help you with it. but there are better grinds now .many cams to pick from last 455 was a custom from Erson cam .you need to watch the lifters on the pontiac many stop making the lifters for the pontiacs and the chevy lifter is now used in place of it. but oil band is not realy were it should be so this needs to be checked at base circle or you can bust the block .i think most cam companys have work this out but it still should be checkedLast edited by pat mccarthy; 09-04-2011 at 07:06 PM.

thanks guys for the warm welcome.Yea Pat,i ordered a comp cams bump stick and lifters also comp vams springs,i did a lot of reading about cams this past month and kinda feel i have a better understanding of them.Cam tech always seemed almost overwhelming but i neve really just stopped and read about them, after my crash course on trying to really understand how they really work i feel like i have made a good choice.Im putting the engine together this week and looking forward to hearing her fire up.I have a soft spot for detroit iron and enjoy all makes and performance levels of the old school cars,my son also has an appreciation for these cars.We built a 1980 indy pace car edition T/A together and it was the coolest experence ever,im proud of my son he serves in the USAF,and i feel blessed to have a son that shares my love for these cars.talk to yall soon. Mike
