technically, i am the newest member now
Hello,
I thought it would be appropriate to introduce myself, and my stuff. I am 21 years olds and will be graduating from Northern Illionois University in May 2004, GO HUSKIES!
I have a 1979 suzuki rm125 that is a blast to ride. I have been driving a 1980 MGB for the past four summers, my father owns, and lets me drive it for now. It's multi-colored, not fast, rusting, the top leaks when it rains, but I LOVE TO DRIVE IT. I want to own my own one day, and drop a small light weight V8 in it one day, or something equivalent.
My real reason for being here is that i recenty aquired a 1978 Oldsmobile cutlass. And I also got a 1975 oldsmobile 350, that i believe came out of a 442. I have already takent e 260 V8 and tranny out of the car and plan on putting the 350 i the near future. My goal for this car is fcor it to be my daily driver for two years, until i can make it my fast car that is a sleeperish looking. Well i think that would be cool.
The 350 supposedly ran for 3000 mile after a rebuild, then sat for twenty years. so it ran 20 years ago, i have not heard it run.
I am heading to bed, don't be afraid to ask any questions, pick my brain, and i'll pick yours.
I"M HERE TO LEARN! whooo.
here are some pics of my stuff.

Welcome aboard TankTop8..
You will enjoy this site. My plymouth sat for 4 years and it took an incredable amount of work to get it going. Everything on it was gummed up or dried out.

Hey man, love the olds. Just out of curiosity, what are you going to do with the 260? I have a little AMC Eagle I should have swapped my 260 into, but I forgot that i could put a GM tranny into it. Anyway, if it has around 100K or less, I will Gladly take it off your hands! BTW, there are a few oldsmobile affectionados in this club. So feel free to ask questions. Many times, they can help you out really well.Right engine, Wrong Wheels

260
The 260 i don't really plan on doing anything with. The transmission for now i plan on using withthe 350 because the 350 doesn't put out much horsepower now. Well technically it doesn't put out any horsepower at all right now, lol. If anyhting i was going to take the water pump and emission controls, and anything else that could be used on the 350 in case of an emergency, but if you are interested in the 260 let me know, it's just sitting right now. I would be happy if you waned to take it off my hands. One day i will have a fast car.
