Newb Nick from Narb
Hi folks!
I'm Nick the Newb and live near Narberth, PA which is an immediate suburb of Philadelphia. I grew up in the city but moved out here about 35 years ago since there are more trees and grass and quiet.
I joined Club Hot Rod in hopes of learning things, exchanging ideas, and just to have an outlet for B.S.'ing about hot rods. I'll generally lay low unless I have something worthwhile to say.
I'm 63 y.o. now, have always been a motorhead, and can't remember any time during my life that I didn't want a '30's era hot rod so now I finally got this '32 Hi Boy roadster. I've never owned a "hot rod" before although I've had a bunch of cars but nothing earlier than a 1960. My other fun car I still have I've owned for about 13 years, it's a Toyota Supra which was a very low milage one owner pure stock car when I got it and I've done quite a bit of moding on it over the years. I do a few roadcourse track days with it each year and otherwise just drive it as often as possible since I love driving it. I'm sure I'll love driving my new baby, too, so that'll give the Toy a rest and give me something to change it up a bit.
Since I have other "irons in the fire" I wasn't prepared to get into a "project" so after shopping around for several months I just got this completed '32 roadster, Brookville steel body, and the usual almost "cookie cutter" recipe of a ZZ4 SBC, mild TH350, 9" Ford posi, etc. But I hope to personalize it as I firm up my ideas of what to change on it. I do like it as it sits but I'm sure I'll make some changes as time and money allow.
This one was built by the guys at Mid-Missouri Street Rods for a previous owner. I'm borrowing some of their build pics to post below just to add some meat to this thread. The last few pics are as she sits now, one with the hood sides removed to fit the Sanderson Zoomies which came with it.

I thought that looked like a steal body, some things that tipped me off. The door hinges, firewall the way the cowl is attached, and the crisp body lines, Brookville is a class act, smart buy on your car.I have two brains, one is lost and the other is out looking for it

Good piece of hardware to use for jumping in the pool. Don't be too concerned about the "cookie cutter" thing...............that stuff became "cookie cutter" for a bunch of good reasons. As you say, you can change things as your tastes evolve............they're never done.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

Welcome, Mark. You have a great lookin' Deuce! I particularly like the first picture with the hood sides in place - so clean and pristine with the classic lines. The zoomies are nice, but that look with the full hood is hard to beat!Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

It's so "iconic" that I couldn't resist adding a Moon tank on it today. As soon as I get lines and fittings on it I plan to keep the nitromethane in it
Otherwise, I was out driving it literally all day today and I'm sorry I had to come home. It's such a blast to drive so I'm off tomorrow roaming around town again. I notice if you sort of turn the wheel toward the direction you want to go and then hit the gas, it goes right there! Motor sounds nice, too.

Not sure where to post this kind of question. I have inserted comments about it here and there but still no solution to the problem.
How do I get to put car/s in my "garage". No matter what I try it tells me I'm maxed out but there's nothing in there. I even PM'd a mod/admin but heard nothing. Is there a trick or procedure or requirement I'm missing?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

LOL I have never noticed that, but here is the way click on garage. When that page open look below the word HOME you will see ADD VEHICLE. Click that and you are on your way. Shout if you have trouble, PM if you like.
Cheers,

Thanks for the help, Greg. I think I've tried that a few times and it doesn't work for me ...or maybe I did it wrong? When I click ADD VEHICLE I get this message:

Now that is something an educated moderator will need to take care of, that is a permission problem on your account. You got to quit filling up this servers hard drive with all your pictures ... Just kidding, should be an easy fix. You might look in your browser cache, find the cooky for this site, delete it and log back in, let the server send a new cooky, just a guess but it might be corrupted in some crazy way.

What a coincidence, Greg! My wife also said I'm corrupted. Ok, I like cookies so I'll try that.
