New here trying to learn some stuff
I recently was given a 454 gen 6 and am new to the engine building. I am hoping to get some ideas and advice when I start putting it all together. Looking to put it in a 69 jeep J3000 that was also given to me. Hopefully to become a sleeper to just have fun with and maybe run down the strip. the truck has a buick 350 in it now but i want more power to really be surprising people with.

If memory serves, the J3000 is a full size truck from the late 60's to early 70's. So a BBC not only would fit, but help get it moving a lot more than the OHC inline 6 it had.Bob

Not quite the same thing but I will be transplanting a big block into my 74 FSJ here in the next few months. I took a Jimmy frame and streched it 2.5 inches and threw the body on that. Right now is a 350/350 carborated... 454 is a throttle body. It will fit... Just depends on how much time, though and energy your willing to put into it. In my mind anything pre smog is well worth it. lets see some pics of your rig?

Sure thats not the amc/ jeep 360 engine? If it is Id really concider keeping it in that ride of yours. Go to the ifsja or Jeep network and check out the trucks on there. Your truck is woth a lot more in its original configuration than it will be if you do a chevy motor swap. And believe me it is hard for me to say that! That truck of yours is really straight and its in great condition. You even have the pie plates on that baby.... Good rhino grill like your and original pie plates are really sought after. I know cause I couldnt find any and had to make my own!
Let me know if I can help ya... I have a litttle experience with these rigs.
