    New Guy AGAIN!!!

    Hi all,

I used to have a 72 charger with a 440 I installed. (That was the cool year with the roll a-way head lights )

Well in 91 my wife gave birth to our daughter. The Charger and my Duster project had to be sold in 93.

Well it's now 2004 we also have a son but more importantly we have enough money for me to have a toy again. My wife is even excited about it. When I asked her if I could build another Hot Rod her eyes lite up!! I think she is more ready for another car than I am. She actually liked hanging out at the track and going to shows.

Well I have pretty much decided I want to get back in with a T-Bucket. I have not made up my mind on a small block or big block Chevy engine yet though.

Do any of you have T-Buckets.. If so can you point me to some good places to buy parts from. I really hate "KIT CARS" but I think with a T-Bucket and a few good part sources I can turn it into my own style ride.

Well Thanks for any info you can help me with.

Ohh yea, my name is Bob

    Bob,

Welcome aboard. 'fraid I can't help ya out in the T-Bucket area but there are guys on here who can.

Anyway, glad to see you kicked that nasty SLOPAR addiction, and at least your thinking about building your T-Bucket Ford tuff with Chevy stuff so you can't be all bad..... . Seriously though. Welcome to CHR and I hope you enjoy your stay. I know I am.

    Cheers,
    Firechicken

    Thanks for the welcome guys..

Firechicken, I even owned a Firechicken myself as well as a Chevell and a Vett.. I am not really into any manufacture. I just like what I like.

I forgot to add in my first post.. I HATE THIS IMPORT THING!!! I have no idea why someone would spend so much money getting some little 4 or 6 cyl. engine to push some little car into the 13 sec range I just don't understand..

They did not have little cars like that back when I was at the track every Saturday night. What happened in the last 10 years??

Seems to me if these guys want their little cars to go fast they would save lots of money with a SB Chevy and go even faster. They also crank these little engines up to like 999 million RPM's so I know they are working on them all the time.

Well sorry if I made any import guys mad,, Maybe you can show me the light..

    Rawley,

I know what you mean about liking what you like. I just seem to like things more when they're wrapped in a bow tie.... Seriously though, I'm into all kinds of stuff as well. I would love to have an old Willy's coupe with a big ol' Hemi under the hood. There, I did it, I gave MOPAR credit....my shrink will be so proud!!

Anyway, I have to agree with you about the ricer thing...they could go a lot faster with a SBC, but I guess it's all about the look and I guess they like what they like too. I guess that there is something to be said for taking a 4 banger and getting a lot of ponies out of it, but it aint what I'm into . Anyway, I think you'll enjoy the stay here.

BTW, what years were your Firechicken, Chevelle and Vette?

    Cheers,
    Firechicken

Welcome Rawley, I just looked at www.speedwaymotors.com and they have T bodies and T kits, now you said u diddn't like kits but, you could just throw out the instructions and just use the parts cause, they come with the chassie, body and a few other things all, for $2,699.95 for the base kit, just the base body would cost you $469.95. Many streetrod parts are available there also, Oh and AWOOGA horns are sold there too, I love those things.

    Firechicken 84 with a V-6 (Sorry), Chevelle 69 with a 350 and Vette 81 STOCK!!

I did some searching in this forum and found some good info from old post. I KNOW I will be using a SB Chevy now. I also seen the nice long ricer thread. LOL

    Matt167,

I found that link through searching this forum. I currently have the plans from www.tperformance.com. Before I started my own Business I was a C-n-C programmer and set up person. I did that for 9 years. I still have access to one of the local shops machines. They will let me come in at night on 2nd shift and use the machines Cheap as long as they don't have anything set up on them. ( I can trade it off by writing programs for them.) I plan to make most of the stuff myself to save money..

    To ALL,

Wow I am glad I found this forum, the other 2 I found that actually had regular posters where mostly import guys. Or as you guys call them ricers.

I should also warn everyone I am the typo king!!!
