Formal Introduction
Hello all, my name is Ed. I'm brand new to this site and just about new to the rodding scene. I recently rescued a 1981 Firebird from a bean field in Iowa for $200. I brought it home and put fresh gas and an old battery in it and it fired right up. It has a small 3.8 liter 231ci. in it , but I'm toying with the idea of throwing in a big block. I work a lot so I don't have a lot of free time to turn wrench, but I would like to see my kids driving this around town one day soon.

Welcome to CHR eboy, ur best bet is to get a pontiac 455, if your goint to put a big block it it. The 231 has no performance potential for the money and, will find an extreme performance diffrence just by bolting up a stock 455 BUT.... there are many performance parts u can buy from www.jegs.com or www.summitracing.com and, include cams, intakes, carbs and a few other things which, would turn that Firebird into a real performer. You don't know what you've got til it's gone

Welcome aboard e-boy, way to save the field iron from the rust demons! I do agree with drg84, must be RWD! Sounds like a great find.
You will find an "Attach file" window at the bottom of your reply window. Simply insert the pic file in that box and it will come up automaticaly when you submit.
