    New Camaro Lover with questions!

    Hello All

I have owned a 2000 Camaro SS for a year and love the car, but what I am really in to is my newest purchase. I bought a 1969 Camaro and I am rebuilding it from scratch. It is a X-44 base car, so I don't want to rebuild it by the numbers. What my intentions are is to make it an SS or a RS/SS. I have a high performance 396 with high performance heads already.

My question is, with the base car I have already, and the engine, what do I do to make this car a perfect SS or RS/SS clone. I know clones aren't the greatest, but I can't afford much else at this time. So I need to know all the details to make everything match except the cowl tag of course.

Thanks a bunch. Anyone with info can email me at frank23woods@yahoo.com.

If you already have a performance engine then you could build it any way you want. Sometimes building a clone can cost just as much or more than building the real thing by the time you track down or buy new fab pieces to make it close as possible. Depends on what you are starting with. Trim and interior peices are like gold to some camaro collectors and restorers anymore.... Would make a good driver though. Which ever way it turns out, Have fun!

This site should answer a lot of your questions about what a first gen. camaro should have for options. I'm building a gen 2 camaro. The numbers matching guys get serious about those NOS parts. Check book and a sound financial portfolio required.
