Hi All;
Hi All new here today. Like this site. I have owned many cars , but my retirement(after I get done with my brother-in- laws motorhome and hi for sale 97 Chevy p/u) project is my 55 Dodge Coronet 2dr. I also have a 88 Chrysler 5th ave for parts. Body is pretty fair ,but floor and trunk pans are junk and parts for mopars are hard to find or way to hi priced. But if I have to I will do things like I did them back in the day. Many of your rides here are really great, my idea of art. Have a great day to all Mike-flathead4848

Welcome, Mike. When you get started on the '55 Coronet we'd love to see some base line pictures in a build thread, and then progress pictures as you go along. Sounds like you've got a good plan for the build.Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

Hi Mike, welcome to CHR.
A good mate of mine had a '55 Coronet that he rebuilt to completely original.
A beautiful car.
We wanted him to rod it; but he never did.
Unfortunately, due to illness, his circumstances changed and the car had to go.
I know he still feels bad about losing it!johnboy

Thanks for the greeting everyone. I plan on building my Dodge like I saw them in the late 50s and mid to late 60s. ( love fuzzy dice). I would take pictures , but I don't have a camera and no scanner . I do intend to take loads of pics from tear down to end of build. 40deluxe; my all time favorite cars is the 40 ford deluxe and 40-41 ford trucks. I had a 40 deluxe and a 41 p/u, both with flathead motors. p/u had a 47 motor ,with 3/4 cam 40 over slugs 2 duce intake with 97s, and shaved iron heads. (you might get the idea that I like them ole fords by my name). I am really looking forward to starting on the Dodge. It will be a challenge and the last, health not so good any more. to all; have a blessed day or evening, mike flathead4848

Welcome Mike!
We're a good bunch here with a ton of hot rod know how. Have a few real pros here as well as those of us who just enjoy the smell of grease and garages. Hope your stay is long and you find a lot of good info for your Coronet!

Missed giving you a welcome originally because I didn't have a decent internet connection (well, it's still crappy, just not as.....). Welcome aboard!!!
Okay, I can't resist regarding the picture thing....... A couple years ago I was selling my '30 traditional roadster. A fellow in Japan wrote and asked if I would make a video for him to assist in his decision making/comfort level. I told him I didn't have a video camera. He replied "You don't have a cell phone???" Duh, damn I'm old. Sure enough, both my bride and I had phones capable of videos, just never thought of that. So, I'll ask the same question, and you probably don't need a scanner as the charging cable is usually able to transfer via USB. Your answer may be revealing............................Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

Welcome Mike from down under New Zealand. Yes we are like the old drug-attic, we love our fix of hot rod porn (pictures) to admire while the coffee washes down ones throat. I have to admit that when I was younger, the idea of using an old flat head or Y block in a rod just seem like stupidity but now that they are harder to come across and are very desirable, I have taken quite a liking to them.I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.
