But I believe the " Air Bag suspension " does have history going back long before Ryan thought of HAMB yet, like using a SBC in anything, it isn't political correct to some of those on the site. Independent suspensions have history too as do the Chrysler alternator yet one can be crucified for using one that looks almost identical in shape but smaller from an early Jappa. There is excellent guys on there build some amazing vehicles so I just spend time with those that ain't so anal.I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

The HAMB drags are coming soon, the 3rd Sat in August, at Mo-Kan dragstrip a few miles north of Joplin, Mo. If I get the Chance I might just wander down and have a look. Mo-Kan has been there since Christ was a corporal.Ken Thomas

If you look back at things Smokey Yunick did, one was proving that the higher you can run your temperature in a CONTROLLED mode, the more efficiency you'll get from your fuel. It's in the heat of vaporization, and maximizing the mix with the incoming air. Boost it to 190 or 195 and you'll burn cleaner.
The irony is that most of those that are more anal, preaching how it was "...back in the day" have fathers who weren't born yet "back in the day". They'd have to go back to ask Granddaddy how it was "back in the day", and hope that Granddaddy was an evil hot rodder and not just cruising his Daddy's Chevy to the drive-in.Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

I was just kidding around, I really love what I do. It's actually kinda crazy any more. I am actually familiar with the CAN BUS system, ag has been using it for years now. Tractors usually have a minimum of 5 computers in them anymore and everything is as reliable as the weakest wire.Seth

Funny, given the theme of this site, I was picturing a 20 or 30s model Deere. But the computer challenge sounds fun. There has got to be hydraulics functions as well..
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.

4000-4500 acres depending on how many fields they can get planted before it is too late. Their grain cart has tracks too. They just got a new one last year. I believe it is a 1500 bushel unit. They run 2 New Holland combines during harvest. Or try to. They have 4 petes and 4 hopper trailers. 2 of which are new wilsons with tags. Those are fun to pull. Most of the time there are only 2 semi drivers so they keep us hopping. 2 of the quadtracs do field work and the other pulls the grain cart. Plus they have a pretty big New Holland MFWA with duals all the way around that pulls 2 wagons.Ryan

Sounds like a big outfit, I worked at a CIH/New Holland dealership for about 15yrs. Now I work at an independent shop a few mile away from there and get a little more variety but still mostly newer stuff. I think this thread may have accidentally got hijacked by me, Sorry Mjeds. I'll stop now.Last edited by 53 Chevy5; 07-26-2017 at 09:44 PM.
