    Hello from louisiana

     



    Hello, I just bought a 72 chevy super Cheyenne 400 with original stock motor, the truck is in fair to above average condition.the engine burns a little oil, and i am going to do a re-ring rebuild.
    And thought it would be a good idea to join here to learn as I go.

    Welcome to CHR! That sounds like a cool truck you have. Is it a long bed or short bed? Cheyenne Supers are getting harder to come by these days.

    It is a long bed. I found it in mustang,ok.

    Welcome,

    There is lots a knowledge around here for free. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Best advice I can give you is ask first and buy second. Don't make the same mistakes many (including myself ) have done. The folks around here can really help guide you to a successful plan. Most have "Been Here and Done That"

    It's probably a 402 BBC. Some big block trucks had 400 badges but had 396's in them. Not real common though. The badges say 400 but they never came with 400 small blocks.

    Welcome! The '72 is the best looking C10/20 in my book. Hard to find a solid unit under $15k around my neck of the woods.

    I prefer pre - 68 c-10s, after that they are rather a bit "box-y" for me. But they do look nice all fixed up, I look forward to it!

    I learned to drive in my dad's '66 3 on the tree so I kind of have soft spot for them, too.
