Hi to all - just joined tonight - looks great. Have a 1950 Ford (pictures are posted) 2 door coupe Shoebox! This is 100%, old school, kustom. Painted in satin black primer with traditional flames. Has a small block 283 Chevy engine and turbo 350 trans. The grill is '53 Chevy, '49 Merc lower front section. It is nosed & decked and the hood is peaked. It has dual dummy spots & 4" peep mirrors. The bumpers are shaved. It is lowered 3" all the way around - been tunneled. It has dual exhaust with gutted glass packs. Added flame throwers last year! The hubcaps are Packard - with bullets. The body side molding is o.e.m. '54 Merc. The rear is stock Ford with 4:11 gears. The radiator is Ford truck with dual electric pusher fans. It has Lee taillights - '54 Chevy a/c - red & white bullet dash knobs - Frenched parking lights. Near future project French the headlights - have the stuff but not the time. Some day project - chop top 6" in front, 8" in back & stretch the roof & pancake hood & trunk. I'm interested in all kinds of hot rods & kustoms but have a soft spot for Model A's and Shoeboxes. Like REAL cars - like those the average guy had in the 50's - backyard, shade tree mechanic specials - put together with a bunch of buddies with a cutting torch, a couple of wrenches and a working knowledge of every junk yard within a reasonable (or unreasonable) distance.
    Chop it and drop it!

    Waycool,

Dave is right. It looks as if it would have fit right in in the 50's. That's one fine Shoebox.

Welcome to CHR WayCool. That 50 Ford looks great. The 6 inch chop sounds good. Maybe one of the guys who knows their way around photoshop can do a virtual chop for you from the side view.

All right Streets...I know it's hard, but TRY to behave yourself! A girl just can't have too many shoes, but sometimes the shoebox just comes later...

[COLOR=darkred]Didn't really need a shoebox around here~~~wife's closet is packed with them Checked the photos - you all have some great rides~~wouldn't want to have to choose just one! Near as I can tell - some of you have way too many cars, causing dangerous overcrowded conditions. Just to show you what kind of guy I am, even though I really don't know any of you, I will help you out and take some of them off of your hands! I won't even charge you for the removal!

Here that Pro You've got to many and WayCool needs some so how about being the nice guy you are and lets him have his choice. Not the riding mower though, you spent way to much money on that.HeHe
