Was it the same color? My uncle built that one, I am not sure exactly when he started it but I remember it personally as far back as 1988. He was also a high school autobody/autoshop teacher for 20+ years. We still have many of his old builds in the family.

Yes, if I remember right there was an orange one and a yellow one on the front cover. I remember cuz I had a thing for those pickups back then already lol. I'll dig through my old hot rods and see if I can find it.

Interesting, I was just curious if it could of been my uncles? It's possible, I could ask my cousin.

Here is how mine currently sits.

Here is the latest build from another cousin of mine, he started building it January of last year, total frame up, got diagnosed with an aggressive form of ALS in the summer and a whole lot of family and friends came together and got it on the road real quick, he was able to spend a couple months driving it almost daily, it was high on his bucket list.

Here's a quick video of my cousin enjoying himself in the 49. He can no longer drive.

Here is a picture of the "Goat Wagon" from last Thursday at the Boise roadster show that didn't happen.

I'm kind of bummed out, looked all over for my collection of hot rod magazines in our house and could not find them. I messaged my brother who bought my old house from me to ask him if they were still in the basement there and he said yes they were. I went and got them and went through them and could not find the one I was looking for. My first issue was 1987 which would have put me in elementary school, which is where I may have seen the one I'm thinking of in the library there. That may be what led me to subscribe to it. It sure was flooding back memories of looking at them though................. Update. Turns out I had a couple hiding in my "growing up box" and I found the magazine. It doesn't look like it's yours though unless you changed some things on yours for the better

I guess if you're painting and there's snow outside there shouldn't be any bugs lol

Cool though, I should ask my cousin how they decided to chop the top in the first place...... I called it a convertible once and he says.... "TOPLESS"... in a stern voice.

Took much of it apart today, getting chassis and cab ready for future transport.

I'm not giving up, taking my time, my brother offered up his facilities and expertise.

Is and will be a family built rig to the end.

Bit of a change of plans, my brother is a bit more engine savvy than I and we really need to change the cam out, Its much too aggressive for the sniper, need to go with something better suited for that with more reliability and fun. Better to do it now than later, I bought the engine off a friend, its never been ran since it was built.

Got a few more things done today, I'll get a new cam ordered soon hopefully.

Here are a couple shots from underneath.
