Doing another mock up of the front end, I have a new grille, inner fenders, hopefully finish that tomorrow, trying to cover up that little V8, then take it all back apart. I'm sure I will upset people and whatnot but it's my truck and I'm building it my way.
Still got to get some cam stuff ordered and redo that all right for my application.

Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

Yeah, I was just saying...The purists get all upset about things, I am certainly not worried.
Anyway, the damage to the passenger fender isn't letting us get proper alignments so I made a call and may find out about a different fender tomorrow.
Yes I have a walker radiator that fits just fine, I'll have roughly a 16" pusher fan that runs off a temp sensor connected to the Holley sniper plus a bypass switch, we will also add shrouds and such to help tunnel the airflow.

Haters are gonna hate. It's all they've got.
I just saw an amazing video on a 90% scale WWII mustang fighter plane, which got totally hated by one troll: said it wasn't a mustang because it wasn't full scale. Well he's welcome to build a full scale and make the world right again, but you know he won't. He has got to save his energies to critique others, don't ya know.
Build it to make yourself happy, dam the trolls..
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.

JMHO, but you won't get many haters here. Encouragement, friendship, guidance, appreciation, knowledge, help, truth, YES.
We may not always say what you want to hear, but it is usually said with respect and meant to help not ridicule. Although I have been known to get a little cranky once in awhile, lol...
BTW, nice ride!

Personally I love “one of a kind” homebuilt hot rods. Trucks like yours are what it’s all about to me. Nice ride man. Enjoy it.Steve

Welcome to one of the best hot rod (street rod, if you prefer) sites on the 'net. This is an informative, helpful, and very friendly place. You won't find many "flamers" here like some other popular sites we all know... One thing we all like is pictures - lots of pictures. You're off to a good start , so keep posting pics of your progress.
Like Steve just above, I also like homebuilt hot rods. If someone has "cubic money" and would rather open their wallet than their tool box, that's OK - it keeps the hobby alive. But people who do the major portion of their own build get more respect from me, so kudos to you and your family for doing yours. I'm currently in the middle of my second build thread here on Club Hotrod. I found with the first one that doing the thread helps keep me on track with the build! Good luck with your '40 and keep those pictures coming.
Here's a pic of a friend's '40 Pickup I painted a few years ago. It has Camaro front frame section, Chevelle coil rear w/ 12-bolt, and runs a 331 Hemi.Jim

Thanks for the words guys, I am still plugging away with the truck when I get a chance, I really need to tackle the cam change soon, I am really itching to at least fire up that engine. We are also working on mock up and build of body stuff, center console, where is everything going etc. I will probably add things like a line lock, electronic park brakes. I'd rather spend 10 years building it once then just rushing to get it driving and go back and change a bunch of things.
I'm gonna need some Kiwi definition before I can laugh at this one!! What's "a skip" in Kiwi?
