shimming under the cowl rocks the door . if the door needs to come up in the rear shim under the door post body mount pulling down on the front cowl mount . you have to gorilla the door some to help the cab to move . the doors were never shimmed .Last edited by shine; 10-31-2020 at 09:07 AM.

Yeah I have body shims under the passenger front and we also lifted the doors forcibly, cab is not square, appears to have been wrecked in the back passenger area, the floor is raised up a bit. It was probably out of square when I got it, didn't even have a firewall, I know before we cut out the floor pans and added the firewall we added supports to the inside of the cab.

I had to put a jack and a 2x4 diagonally in the jam and tweak mine. My cab had been hit on the driver's side and the gap at the front of the door was tight too. I did a cut and tapped the metal back and welded to bring the gap back, this was on the body in front of the door. These old things are pretty crude for sure.

almost every pre48 i have built was out of wack. on my 37 i cut the weld on the inner door brace and twisted it then rewelded to suck the bottom corner in. done that on several . shutting the door on a 2x4 was common practise back then . you just have to magilla gorilla them .

We'll get the door gap stuff fixed next probably, then start working towards a full body mock up.

Very nice work and great progress! My sedan has bad door alignment too but I'm going to get it live able so I might be able to get it back together before 2030.

To all of us I'm sure.
Door gap issues are better now, I have custom doors for sure.
Now for the fun part of mock up again to see if we can give all the panels a home and as good as we can get them. Also I have a name for the truck now.
