318 rebuild help needed for a new to muscle Brit

    Hello from the U.K

I'm new to this game and looking to rebuild a 318 L.A with a blower for around 500hp (at the wheels would be nice).

As I'm in the U.K theres a lack of information on these kind of builds and even less availability for parts.

If anyone could recommend any parts websites as google results tend to return BMW 318 related pages.

If anyone can recommend some already proven mixtures of parts to achieve this goal that would be fantastic.

I've come away from off-roading so will be using my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ as a platform and going RWD with it.

Any input is appreciated as I'm regularly finding sites that might be able to help but my location doesnt allow me to view.

    Thanks

    Liam

Welcome to CHR WheelieJeep. As a JEEP owner ('05 TJ lifted) your WheelieJeep name caught my eye! Here are a few links to sites that you might enjoy.
Rock Auto, a great source of OEM parts for all models - https://www.rockauto.com/
Summit Racing, a great source of aftermarket parts of all kinds - https://www.summitracing.com/
JEGS, another great source of aftermarket parts - https://www.jegs.com/

For your project, I question the choice of the 318 as your platform as it's an old school base. In the day, the 318 was a lower tier workhorse surpassed by the 383, 426 and even the 440. With a 2000 WJ as your base I would think that sourcing a takeout package from one of the later JEEP/Chrysler/Dodge platforms would be a better choice. One of the late model HEMI's, complete with transmission, computer & harness would be a drop in for your WJ and would be a screamer!

Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.
