Thread: Newbie check in

I guess we all check in here. Like most I've been a car nut since I was old enough to build model cars. Even then they couldn't be stock, thank heaven for AMT"S 3 ways to build. Always had parts for another project.
Over the years I've had custom vans, Mazda RX2 with an aluminum V6 in it ( don't ask), v/8 Vega, Lowered mini truck, and a lowered Astro van. Now at 50 I bought my first Vette, a C4. And a list of upgrades. But have always wanted a hot rod, just could never find the right one, as in $$$$. When I lived in Florida met a guy by the name of Jim Heisner. Drove a 50 Merc as his maine ride. This guy doesn't rebuild them but remake them. Old school metal man, best I've ever seen. Hanging around his shop, and watching was a learning experience. Watched him take a beautiful Packard sedan and turn it into a woody wagon. Man what a site.
Anyhow found this site and as my 11 year old son and I work on his first car we will be asking for your knowledge and help. Some where down the line hope we can return the favor. We not live here in NE TN. and try to make a lot of the shows to learn from those of you who know how it's done.
