    Hello all!

    Hello to all!! Just checking in. This looks like a GREAT site. I'm really NEW to the rod ownership. So new I'm going to drive 8 hours to pick up my car on Saturday. I've not even laid hands on it yet. The avatar is the car. It's a 1931 model. I'm so excited and can't wait to get it.

    Nice looking 31. Welcome to CHR. What are running for engine and gears in your car?
    Keep smiling, it only hurts when you think it does!

    It has a 350 Chevrolet engine with 350 turbo automatic transmission. White in color with a pink & gray small pin strip. Roof has been chopped 3 1/2 inches. Rear end has been tubbed. Brand new Dunlop tires and Pacer wheels. Engine has about 1000 miles on it. The rear end is an 8" Ford with 300 gears with coil over springs. My future plan will be to change the motor out and put a FORD back in. I know the 350's is what everyone goes with, but I have to have a FORD powerplant...LOL!

    I just got back from a 1200 mile/20 hour drive (straight) and I now have my car in my driveway. Pictures to come soon.

    Welcome to CHR, Youther. Looks like a neat A sedan you got there. When you get all that chebbie stuff out of it, you have a couple choices what to do with it. Scrap iron prices are up, peeps are always looking for boat anchors. That chebbie stuff will do great for either!!! What size Blue Oval stuff ya gonna put in the A? Neat car, have fun.

    Seems appropriate that a dyed in the wool blue oval boy would be up on scrap metal prices!!

    Welcome aboard Youther, good start. As for the engine thing, I've got Ford, Chev, and Mighty Mopar, so I like 'em all.............but it is fun to get a dig in on Dave once in a while.

    Youther;
    If thats the car your getting it's hot. And looks better then any I've had. I did have one car that was show worthy, A 1973 VW Bug. But let's face it that's more like owning a fixed up Go-Cart.
    Take good care of your new ride buddy.

    Dave, I can see that you and I are going to get along great already......LOL! I'm not sure what I'm gonna replace it with just yet, the main thing is that it's ford power.

    vara4, yeah that's it and it's already in great shape. It needs some TLC in some areas and I plan on painting it maybe a deep marroon with white ghost flames.

    Welcome Youther,

    I would be interested to know the specs on the rear tires with an 8" Ford rear that appear to fit nicely in the A fenders. I am about to buy tires for a '29 A full fendered roadster with 15" wheels and 3 3/4" backspace. The wheel mfg. recommends 235/70/15 with only 28 psi, but I would like to know what your '31 has.
