    Old timer...new toy!

Hi all, looks like a great active forum you've got here! About myself, I remember as a kid goin down to the local track and watching Don Garlits, Shirley Muldowney, Don Prudhomme and the rest battle it out. Talked to most of them. We had this local racer, the "Folsom Flash" (Bob Bunker) that ran a 56(55?) metallic green blown doorslammer who used to have grudge matches all the time. Watching him race really lit the fire inside me to drive a blown motor one day. My first car was a 69 Polara police car with a 440 Magnum. Really filled my need for speed! Been hooked on big-block Mopars ever since. Now I'm finally fulfilling my dream by building a blown 65 Coronet. It's not on the road yet, but I'm sure not giving up. Anyway, thanks for a great site, and I'm sure you'll find me lurking around here now and then. Go reeeeal fast!

Welcome to CHR, the thing I love about the big block dodges was how easy you could replace the water pumps! Nice!!!

Welcome, from another "old - new guy". Those "square" MoPars are in a class of their own. I always thought the ones with the HUGE slicks, and the straight front axle with little wheels, were kind of sexy; in a brutish sort of way. Real ground pounders.

And, you mention Shirley Muldowney: she always made my tic tock; that pink fire suit, and that long hair, and a hot car; m-m-m!
