    New guy

    Hi,
    Just found your board,looks great.
I have a 46 ford sedan with 400 chevy, solid axle with power steering,D/b,Monte ss rear end.
just started putting in a 200r4 tranny (yes it won't fit,but it will!)
We do all our own work on the car and drive it everyplace.
we just sold our 69 mach-1 that we had for 20 years,Wife had trouble getting out of it so thats why we are working on the 46.
    I'm glad to be here

Keep smiling, it only hurts when you think it does!

    Welcome aboard Russ.

Gotta ask. If you've got a '46 Ford why the 48 handle?

48Ford with a '46. My good memories are from a '47 convert and I can still hear that funny starter sound, but I guess it is totally different with a 400 SBC in there. Welcome to CHR, there are a lot of very experienced folks here with great cars and they have been very helpful. I just ordered a beefed up 700R4 for a very mild 350 SBC based on conversations with several transmission shops who said a stock 700R4 could only handle about 280 H.P. so I wonder if the 200 trans will hold up with a 400 SBC? Just asking a question before it is too late to beef up the 200.
