Lol man I don't even know what I am saying anymore I have to go. haha
FMX ~ You know that once you stick around this site for a bit that these guys give all you "young~uns" the credit you deserve. I don't doubt a bit that there are some skeptics in the beginning...they probably just want to know if your full of hot air or if your gonna stick around... heh.. I don't know what it's like where you guys live...but the hot rod clubs in my area that i've visited at Cruise - in's this summer are just REALLY nice folks...they even put up with ME n the Fire Cluck Cluck! an I don't know squat about what makes a car tick... Ha Ha! So you guys don't listen to the few boneheads out there that like to lump all kids into the same category...just keep doin what you do an hang with the ones that do respect you...you know you've earned it!

in a way thats true. we make our horsepower cheaper and more for the amount of money. like i was watching hot rod tv the other day they decided to do a honda i was like pff so i watched it so i could laugh at them. they spent 1 grand and gained 10 horsepwoer. went from 87 to 97 not even 100!!!!! they put a header an intake <very geniusly put right behind the bumper cover> i mean damn if we put headers and a good intake on our cars we gain more than 10 i mean our horsepower is cheaper. sure the cars may cost a tad more but damn it they are an investment in 20 years what are people going to want? a dry rotted plastic rattle trap or a good soild hunk of american beauty? moral of story BUY AN OLD CAR reasons you ask? ill list a few.
    1. its an investment the old car market place is growing all the time.
2.we can go faster make more horsepower for about half what they spend. i.e 1 grand we can make a hell of alot more than just 10
3.old cars have more style and class.
4.theres nothing like the feeling they have "the feel" theres nothing like the feel of driving an old car it is a time machine.
    5. the thumbs up and comments you get everywhere you go people are yelling hooting and hollaring and always talking to you about the car's old people young people all walks of life.
    6.they sound good <hehehhe>
    7. you can actually work on them without needing a degree in rocket science.
8.they make good family projects and its cool to hand them down from generation to generation.
    9. some of the best memories are in old cars.
10.its a time machine back to when times were more innocent. a time when a kid could walk in to a dealership check a few boxes and get a sweet car that with a few tweaks could pull 12's and lower easily for under 4 grand because horsepower was just a check away. people who were designing them cared. a time when people could have fun cruise hang out have fun. a time when we backed into cruise ins and opened our hoods now people pull in and open there trunk its alot more fun sitting on your hood then your trunk the times used to be good and these cars are the only way we can try to relive them. a time when even music reflected the new cars that were coming out. i.e gto, my ss396 and many more. those times may be gone but as soon as you get in your car its a time warp.....scooter

    Shoulda' posted this here...

Hey Scooter's Dad...This is something I posted this a.m. on the Post a Pic thread...ha ha...it's more suited to this one...

    Kids n Rods
Ya know guys I don't have to tell you this....hehe... but i'm going to anyway...lol...it's the mommy in me!

It is sooooo cool that you guys work with your kids on ANYTHING! There are so many uninvolved daddy's out there that leave the life training for their kids up to the momma's...I really think that you guys spending time with your kids (don't forget yer girls if ya got em!) no matter what your hobby/job/interests are is THE most important thing you will ever do. They look to you during those times to see how you handle yourself, how you deal with other people, how you respond when things go your way or especially when they don't go your way. They learn to think & problem solve, strategize, interact with adults when they spend that time with you. They also watch how you treat their momma...hehe and that's how they will treat important women in their life...hint hint... You guys are the greatest influence the next generation has. An that goes for you Geezer Rodders too...if there are young ones in your circle of influence that DON'T have that example at home...they depend on you to be that example.

My husband is into bicycling (my kids don't like it)...so that's what he and I do together. He doesn't know anything about cars so in order to spend time with our boys he took up golf and does that with them. I don't care what it is...if your out there spending time with those kids it will pay off bigtime! You guys ROCK!!!!!
