Clear coat question....
Greetins!
Im new to the world of car painting and came across this site. I've got a question about using clear coats...
Im using a clear coat from PPG, and im using it on some smaller parts to just get the feel of it. Im using an airbrush and after a couple of tries i seem to be getting okay.
My problem is that the clear coat is impossible to clean off my airbrush once i use it. Even right after i use it, i try to clean it with water, and it wont come off. Soap, no luck. Rubbing alchoal, nothing.
What does everyone use to immediatly clean their airbrush/spray gun to get the clear coat off of it so it doesnt clog up the tools?
Not to mention getting it off your hands (yes i should be using gloves, i know).
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Im at a total loss at what to do at this point.

These new Acrylic Uerathane paint products need to be cleaned with the reducer you mix the clear with or Lacquer thinner ( which is best ), not much else will cut it .
A gallon of lacqer thinner shouldnt be more then 15 bucks . use it and your problems will be solved .

It leaves a film on the gun that I never liked, but it will still clean either way.

I agree with Tech...
I always use Laquer thinner, it is the least expensive and best solution when cleaning your airbrush...
