Shelf life for PPG Dpl epoxy primer?
Does any one know the shelf life for PPG DPL epoxy primer(un-opened cans)? The body work is taking longer than I had expected and with the cold weather setting, I'll have to put off the painting until May.

I don't recall anymore, but I think it's the hardener that has the shorter shelf life than the base product. Check with your supplier and see what the dating is, and if they'll take it back for a credit and then buy fresh when you're ready.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon
It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.

if you never open it. it will still be good. BUT it needs to be where it can not get cold and warm . moreso with the hardener .what kills this stuff. is air. the more air space that in the can will lets moisture in but more on stuff that is open

DPLF's shelf life is quite long as long as it hasn't been opened , or stored where it can freeze , or get overly hot .
The Catalyst is good for 14 days after the seal has been broken. Less if the temps are hotter then 78 deg.
