    need help

     



    ok i got all my body work done on this 72 nova i took on for a trade for a 350 motor and trans, all i need is how to mix my paint, ive never painted a car, all ive done was do the body work and some one else paint it i need to know like what i need like, reducer, catalyst, harderner and what percent should i mix it to the paint

    If it's your first paint job, I would recommend a light, or bright, solid color. I would also recommend a single stage urethane, (which doesn't need a clearcoat.) That combination will show the flaws much less, it's easier to apply, and there is less that can go wrong.

    i am useing a urethane dark color, its burgandy color almost i used to work at a place where we painted mirrors for like honda lexus toyota hyundai called murkami i got the paint there but only thing is im not sure if its urethane or not im sure it is cause i dont think it had to have clear coat on it,

    i am useing a urethane dark color, its burgandy color almost i used to work at a place where we painted mirrors for like honda lexus toyota hyundai called murkami i got the paint there but only thing is im not sure if its urethane or not im sure it is cause i dont think it had to have clear coat on it, and i never had to mix it, i had the guy that was running the mixing booth give me the stuff i needed and went on with it i got part of the car painted but ran out of what he gave me and now im lost and stuck and not sure what to get as far as laquer thinner or what i need to use to put in the paint to put to gun and spray theres more to auto body than i expected but ill hang in there though

    well the car is partly painted and i got the paint at this place i used to work at called murakami they make mirrors for honda lexas toyota hyundai and others, the paint color is burgandy color i had a guy that worked the mixing booth mix the paint for me and give me the stuff i needed to paint but i ran out of the stuff i still have paint but nothing else so now im stuck i dont remember what all he gave me that i used, but it looks really good on the parts i painted, im just stuck now and cant figure out where to go or what to do

    All paints have some sort of system. If you dont even know what kind of paint it is then back up and do all the homework. Then some of the pro painters here can help u.

    if i new other paint names id be able to tell you if i saw the name, i only know house of kolor ppg and omni thats it name some and ill see if any of them are the right name

    Why don't you go back and ask the guy who gave you the paint? That seems like the simplest solution. Or even better, ask him to mix up some more for you. And write down the mix info so you can get more some day if you need it.

    well i would but considering he dont work there no more and i dont either, and would be almost possible to get back in the door at that place, coz its 24 hours lock down have to have card to get back in the door, i didnt know it made a diffrence i guess so
