New to the forum here but here is my project.
I Build and race Dirt Track cars, aluminum sheet bodies. I always want a wild looking car, or something to make it stand out from the cars that just use pre painted aluminum. I have had one pink(orielly paint) and carbon fiber car, one Limetime green and Violet flames and pearl added. This season we want to go one of two routes. One is a limetime body with a lemon yellow gold flames with flakes, The other idea is a black body with green flames all the way down the sides of the car almost. I have a painter, he has done custom cars, and now works as an industrial painter for a large manufacter. Have all the equipment to paint, nice guns, stuff like that. I am incharge of getting the paint and for now dont want to bother the painter every five min abotu what kind of paint.
I have been looking at HOK paint, but it is pricy, and says to use all HOK products.
Is there another line of paint with good color choices and a good price tag? Or can I use a different primer and clear with HOK? I want the car to look nice, but it will be raced alot and torn up so dont want to spend a ton on a paint job. Also the car will be inside all the time except when racing, and Change bodies yearly or more often. Any Product ideas to save some money?
