    Coogan,
I didn't mean a put down either. My car will be "in primer" for who knows how long and I'm trying to build a safe car with a certain amount of "bling" because I don't like to buy anything twice. I'm sure someone readind the forumns has that Street Rodder issue and can let us know what date. I will try to find it myself as I am interested my self. I remember they had rust and/or paint running off of rivets and rubbed thru spots etc. The people in the article were auto painters and used the truck as a shop truck.

Truck is looking good, I remember the first pic you posted. It's come a long way!!! Is it going to have a wood bed??? The box looks great.

Thanks Dave, Yes I will probably have 1 x 6 fir planks in the back with some metal strips between. I need a bed of some sort so I can mount the fuel cell. I can see how the mechanical side of rat rods can be scary and a point of contention. I've seen some real death traps for sale on ebay. This truck will be every bit as safe as my 32 three window with the stage 3 TCI frame under it. I had to compromise the old skool look I wanted in places just to make sure I had safe , new components.

On the musician side of the same subject, Fender started making their "relic" line of guitars. Basically, it's a brand new guitar that they scuff up and beat down (or at least it looks like it) and call it a relic. Here's a link. I think it covers the same basic thing...guys want a "new" car that looks "old". I like it...
