1.4 tip is what you will want Muteboy... If you plan to be a painter as your daily job then spend the money on a great gun. It will save you in the end and will MAKE you money. Nothing worse than dealing with a gun that spits paint and has problems and you end up spending more time wetsanding and fixing runs, etc.www.streamlineautocare.com

Hahaha, bet it was a dumpster with all the trash in it huh? One thing I have never understood about myself is that I have NO patience with the mechanical part of hot rodding or things like putting on bumpers and brackets, etc but seem for some reason to have patience sitting there sanding over and over and over by hand. Lot's of people I see now use a DA but I have tried it a few times after a few older guys told me to and didn't like it. Sure it's fast but one problem: it leaves small swirl mark scratches even if you keep the pad clean so I use a hand block and when I hear dirt scratching I STOP!
How old did you say you were by the way?www.streamlineautocare.com

yeah well i try to keep my fender or panel in the back lol
and im the same way i like flipped out putting my bumper cover on my car. and yeah we use DA's all the time. and i really havent had a problem with DA scratches. of course we're usually using a finishing DA. i like using them but when i work on my buckets i usually hand sand whatever im working on

Yes I mean a finishing DA. If you use a cheap clear coat and start DAing with 1200 and then the 3000 you will notice the paper clogs up quick and those little clog dots make the swirls and when you buff the car out (especially when it is a dark color) you will see the tiny swirl marks. High cut compound will take care of them after some work with it but if you use the Trizac my 3M which is for 3,000 sand scratches then it doesn't take care of it well. That is why I prefer the whole hand sanding and come back over with the Trizac compound and polishing pad polish. I am getting a bit off topic, sorry.www.streamlineautocare.com

its all good i appreciate you putting your 2 cents in
yeah when we sand our stuff we use 1000. 1500. then the trizac then rub it. it usually works out pretty well.
i personally havent had a problem yet but some of the other guys have had some bad scratches
when i paint my car and truck im going to hand sand it for sure thoughNever Criticise A Man Until You've Walked A Mile In His Shoes. That Way When You Criticise Him You'll Be A Mile Away And You'll Have His Shoes

No problem. The DA method I mentioned with the 1200 and then 3000 is quick and does turn out very nice. It's just that you HAVE to keep the pad clean and keep a spray bottle with water on you. Expensive sand paper but worth it in a way if done right. When you sand with that 3000 it actually puts a nice shine to the paint already and when you buff you barely have to do much buffing. Try it out on a panel and see what you think. Hook-It III it is by 3M.www.streamlineautocare.com
