dumb fluid nozzle question
ok i just got an HVLP gun and it says it has a .055 tip. is this equivalent to a 1.5?Never Criticise A Man Until You've Walked A Mile In His Shoes. That Way When You Criticise Him You'll Be A Mile Away And You'll Have His Shoes

That's a 1.4 tip. .055" = 1.397 mmJack

If that's a Harbor Freight 43430 purple gun, it will require 40 - 50 psig at the gun to to spray well, regardless of what the instructions say.This is my experience as well as many others on a different forum.

Yes, 1.4 and that is a good size. Irelands right too, we have one of those that I use to spray primer with and have sprayed color with it before too and you have to turn the air pressure up on it pretty high for some odd reason.www.streamlineautocare.com
If you wan't something done right, then you have to do it yourself!

You have to turn the pressure up on that gun because the nozzle design doesn't atomize the paint as well as some other guns.Jack
