    Paint for interior plastic trim

I found a set of seats that I really like for my car, but they are the wrong color. I have no problem having them reupolstered to match what I have, but I don't know what to do about the plastic trim pieces. I seem to recall there is paint for that, how well does it work, how durable is it etc?

    thanks

    Pat

There are products that you can get from paint supply stores that will grab onto plastics really well. I recommend Bulldog. Prep and spray the part according to the directions. If it is a rubbery plastic, you can also add it to your paint for increased flexibility and adhesion.

I think they also have some rattlecan products designed to promote adhesion, then you just use the paint of your choice on top.

I've used the Bulldog with good sucess on really flexible parts, with none of them coming back with any problems.

SEM, availalbe at automotive paint specialty shops, makes a good vinyl paint. It looks OEM. Don't forget to use their plastic prep before application or it will fisheye or flake off. The Duplicolor vinyl paint doesn't compare.
