need help guys!!! is the fender welting paintable???
is the black fender welting (black) available thur all the hotrod shops paintable?? I am just finishing my 39 coupe, will be rolling into the paint booth next week. i really don't want black, so I thought I would paint in the same exact color as the car. was thinking of using dbc bc/cc with flex agent on the welting, will this work, or am I just wasting my time???? I am sure someone has tried painting the stuff before?

Yes. I also use adhesion promoter. If you don't pound it on too thick it remains flexible.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

Upholstery shops can make this up in almost any color you want. They just pick a vinyl of the same color, and stitch it around a plastic beading like you have on seat covers.

I believe that Juliano's sells it in a variety of colors as possibly other rod shops as well. You might have a problem getting something to closely match a metallic paint and you might find that metallic paint won't adhere to the welting very well or for any long period.Bob

Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
