PPG paint may be over price and some of there clear is not EZ to wheel. i would say some of it will not hold up but they make more clears then most .so if you say it will not hold up wich one ? i have cars out there that have the old dau on them with over 4 coat on them stuff is not falling off .the old ncp or nct?? clear ??it been a long time it was not much better then lacquer just made for fast work .
