you can buy a skin just like a skin for a door it would not to be hard to do in the long run you will end up with a much better job . i did this stuff for many years and steel will not move in heat from the sun . were i seen this happen the pors stuff is good for rusty stuff under side frame floor etc . i am not sold on it for the out side of the car used it on the out side of a S 10 and a round van hinges. i did not think it held up any better then ppg DP 40 for rust work and i did not think much of DP line for this work.... .if your going to remove the vinyl top and keep it off i have sanded them clean with 40 to 80 with a soft pad then da up to 120 clean all pits out with a wire wheel and scrap them out with a awl or spot blast at very low psi then cover with dur glass or mar glass . i would not cover the pits with any thing other then fiber glass then when work out top coat the roof with with a etch primers like etch lock or a two part primer filler done many this way. but theres one or two really bad ones i would of put a new skin on if i could get a new one .so if bad i would skin itLast edited by pat mccarthy; 05-26-2010 at 10:36 PM.

Ditto on the model kits! My best were lost when the Hobby Shop burned under suspicious circumstances....
How did you get hooked on cars?
