You know a paint job is the final thing you usually do on your vehicle. It says you are ready to drive and show it off. Getting ideas from looking at other cars and trucks is a good idea. Going to car shows is another way, but inevitably the final decision is yours and should be what you can live with and not care about what anyone else thinks.
Looking at paints on PPG, Dupont, BASF websites and other paint companies may be another way to pick as well.
