Help with tail light polish
I am going to paint my gas tank cover with Blitz Black. I have mounted the flush mount tail lights. The ones you sand to get the same surface as the metal. I was wondering what kind of polish I can use on this plastic. That I can clean off well enough to paint the Black on after I polish them. Or do you think a good prep-sol will be good enough to remove any left over residue.

Instructions I've seen say to sand them progressively, ending with 600 grit, then polish the plastic the same as you would clear coat. After polishing remove them and store for final assembly after all painting is done.Roger

For what it's worth:
Many year ago when I was in the ATC (Air Training Corps,) if I was a naughty boy I was given a tin of Brasso and a rag and got told to clean the Perspex screens of helicopters.
Brasso is a very mild abrasive, but is abrasive enough to 'cut out' minor scratches in plastics without damaging the material itself.
Perhaps there is a similar brass cleaning/mild abrasive product available that would do the same job for you?
